Most are probably great in their own light. But, here’s one thing that really bothers me about all these products.

So, the goal of the product is to teach “us” how to make money, right? Yet, they sell the products based on how much that “guru” is earning?

Again, I’m not saying that the guru doesn’t make that much money, I’m sure he/she does. However, how does that help “me?”

Just because someone is good at making money does not mean they’re good at teaching us how to do it. I’m always shocked at how none of them talk about what their “students” make.

Crappy testimonials…

To top it off, a lot of testimonials are general and just say “Oh yea, this course is great…” and most of time the testimonials are just from their “buddies” – I think these hardly carry any value!

How about sharing the “exact” amount that the students are now making 100% thanks to the course that they’re trying to sell us?

Anyways, that was my rant. The reason I thought about it was because, yes, there is yet another course being “re” launched soon. Trust me, if you haven’t heard about it you will.

But I can honestly say, it’s refreshing to see that this one is different.

I was really impressed with what I’m seeing so far. They’re actually proving to us that this course works!

Background

Jeremy got into affiliate marketing in late 2003. As a new affiliate he learned the ropes very quickly, and started making money shortly after putting a few affiliate links on one of his sites. Back then it was relatively easy to get a top search listing, click costs were low, and the competition wasn’t very savvy. Anybody with a decent looking site and a little traffic could have made money.

Fast forward 5 years to 2008 and the affiliate landscape is completely different. It can take months (sometimes years) to get a top 10 listing in Google, click costs have sky-rocketed, and the competition is a lot smarter. Creating a successful affiliate business in this climate is a lot harder than it was five years ago.

The Lie

Unfortunately, a lot of the people selling e-books and info products would have you believe that making money online is easy.

While it’s possible to make a substantial income as an affiliate, it’s unrealistic to think you can go from $0 to six-figure-success in minutes a day or from buying some automated money-making system.

The Truth

Based on Jeremy’s experience and observations, only a small percentage (less than 10%) of new affiliates ever go on to make any money. Even fewer go on to quit their jobs or become super affiliates.

There are a number of reasons affiliates don’t make it. Here are few of the most common:

Neil did this without creating a product, without spending a cent on advertising, without creating an email list, and without any promotion from any of his existing lists or websites.

The website was launched on January 30. In February, it generated $3,851 in affiliate sales.

Furthermore, Neil can build websites like this as fast as less than an hour. Building one of these websites is simple using a carefully chose datafeed and a script that Neil’s programmers created for him.

Neil has broken a few gurus’ rules here:

• Duplicate content rule doesn’t seem to apply to this site.

Associates earn referral fees according to two fee structure options offered by Amazon.com, as listed below.

• Option 1: Classic Fee Structure
• Option 2. Performance Fee Structure

Associates are automatically enrolled in the Performance Fee Structure.

Classic Fee Structure is Amazon.com’s fixed-referral-rate plan. Associates earn a 4% referral fee on items offered by Amazon or by third parties.

The Performance Fee Structure plan allows associates to earn higher referral fees as they increase the number of shipped items generated through their links. They earn a referral rate from 4% to 10% on items shipped by Amazon or third-party sellers in various categories.

In either plan, Amazon.com imposes referral fee caps on the following two products:

• Personal computers (both desktops and laptops) have referral fees capped at $25.
• Unbox video downloads have referral fees capped at $1.50 per item.

No other product lines have their referral fees capped.

You just need to create a business card that is geared towards a particular affiliate program, and use the business card to promote it.

You may use the title of ‘associate’ or ‘partner’ with the company, which is true, and for the URL, create a redirect link from your domain for a folder in the name of the company you are promoting.

For example, I’m promoting an e-course called EZY Income System (targeted at Internet marketing newbies), therefore I have created a subfolder called “ezyis” beneath the “recommends” folder of my domain. So I advertised http://www.waihon.com/recommends/ezyis on the business card.

In order to create a cloaked affiliate link to EZY Income System. I launched my favorite affiliate marketer software and selected the Clean URL tool provided in the software. In less than 2 minutes, the software has helped me to generate a cloaked affiliate link page (I named it index.html). I uploaded the generated page to the “pis” subfolder that was created earlier. Now when potential customers point their web browser to http://www.waihon.com/recommends/ezyis, they will be redirected to the main page of EZY Income System. However my affiliate link has already been captured in their PC.

But there’s one problem with Google AdWords. Anyone who has used Google AdWords before should know that Google does not allow you to use a web page with pop-ups as your destinations page. It means that you can’t send your prospects directly to a product sales page if it uses pop-ups (and most sales page does), regardless how well its conversion rate is.

However, this problem should not stop you from using this powerful traffic-generating tool. You should find a creative way to overcome this problem.

Most visitors get frustrated being redirected to a page with multiple products on it and never take the effort to find the particular product you referred. Or else they get distracted, start browsing here and there and forget which product they came to check out. So they might end up leaving the page without buying anything and you’ve lost that commission you should have netted.

However, if you could focus your promotion campaign via a link to a particular product page then your focused promotion efforts are sure to generate more sales.

These people knew about the product through your hard work and yet you didn’t get the credit. There’s totally unfair.

In order to stop these people from ripping off a piece of your affiliate income, you must find a way to protect your affiliate link.

The software tool that allows you to protect your affiliate link is generally called affiliate link cloaker. myAffiliateAssistant has a tool called Clean URL. It’s available in all editions of myAffiliateAssistant including the Free Edition.

Clean URL will generate a web page (in HTML format) that will show a clean URL (without any affiliate link) on the address bar of a web browser. Your affiliate link will be probably and securely cloaked and protected from prying eyes. If link-hijackers and link-bypassers can’t see your affiliate link they can’t change it to their own and take away your affiliate commission.

In short, this tool protects your affiliate income from being ripped off by link-hijackers and link-bypassers.
